What does Heathrow charge if I just turn up?

Heathrow's on-the-day prices are the highest you will pay. These are the airport's published drive-up rates, read on heathrow.com on 19 Oct 2026.

Heathrow car park (paying on the day)1 day7 days
Heathrow Park & Ride (formerly Long Stay)£46.80 first day£271.20 (£46.80 + 6 × £37.40)
Heathrow Terminal Parking (formerly Short Stay)£98.00 for 12–24 hours£686.00 (£98.00 per 24 hours)

Heathrow's Terminal Parking prices have been in force since 6 January 2026. Stays under 9 hours there cannot be pre-booked; longer stays can be booked online up to 2 hours before you arrive, but Heathrow only shows those pre-book prices in its own quote tool, so they change with your dates.

What does a week really cost once you add the extras?

The headline price is not always the whole bill. Here is what each type of urbook parking includes, and what you may pay on top.

Typeurbook from (7 days, checked 19 Oct 2026)What you may pay on topWeek total with extras
Park & Ride£63.60The car park's shuttle, if you use it – call the car park before your parking datefrom £63.60 plus the shuttle if you use it
Self Park£69.60Your local bus or hotel bus fare to the terminal, or the car park's shuttle (call the car park before your parking date)from £69.60 plus your transport
Meet & Greet£81.60Heathrow Terminal Parking entry, £8.00 for up to 29 minutes, at drop-off and at collectionfrom £97.60

The car park's shuttle is only on availability, and there are other free airport transfer services. Please call the car park before your parking date.

Even with the extras added, each pre-booked option above costs less for a week than paying on the day at Heathrow's own Park & Ride (£271.20). Late returns are charged by the car park at its overstay rate, so book the return time you really expect.

Which type of Heathrow parking is cheapest?

Park & Ride is usually the cheapest way to park at Heathrow, because you park the car yourself away from the terminal. Meet & Greet costs more but saves you time at both ends.

  • Heathrow Park & Ride – lowest price; allow extra time to reach the terminal.
  • Heathrow Self Park – you keep your keys and nobody else drives your car; transport to the terminal is not included.
  • Heathrow Meet & Greet – drive to your terminal and hand over the keys; best when time matters.

Is parking cheaper at one Heathrow terminal than another?

The urbook starting price is the same for Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5: from £63.60 for 7 days (checked 19 Oct 2026). What changes by terminal is where you go on the day.

  • Terminal 2 – Meet & Greet at TW6 1EW, Level 4.
  • Terminal 3 – Meet & Greet at TW6 1QG, Level 4.
  • Terminal 4 – long-stay car park, TW6 3XL.
  • Terminal 5 – Meet & Greet at TW6 2GA, Level 4, Row R or S.

Pick the right terminal when you book – check your boarding pass, as airlines do move terminals.

How much is a short trip or a single day at Heathrow?

For a one-day trip, urbook Park & Ride starts from £38.40, Self Park from £40.80 and Meet & Greet from £60.00 (checked 19 Oct 2026). Heathrow's own Park & Ride charges £46.80 for the first day on the day.

How can I keep my Heathrow parking cost down?

Book ahead, compare the total rather than the headline, and choose the type that suits your trip.

  • Book early: on-the-day rates are the highest you will see.
  • Add up the extras: shuttle, terminal entry for Meet & Greet, and any overstay.
  • Check your car fits: vans, roof boxes and bike racks must be declared before booking.
  • Think about Cancellation Cover: add it at checkout if your plans might change; the terms are shown before you pay.
  • Not driving? A Heathrow airport transfer can work out better for longer trips – enter your pick-up postcode to see the fare.

How do I book Heathrow parking on urbook?

Search Heathrow with your dates and terminal, compare the options side by side and pay securely. You then manage everything yourself in My Booking – urbook, your booking, sorted. See every option on Heathrow airport parking or Heathrow long stay parking.
